Pre-Pictures of the New Place

Okay, so my momma wanted to see some pictures, so I am posting them since they are so big...

Okay, so this is looking from the front door down the hallway. Basically on the direct right there is a storage/laundry area... then to the left is the first bedroom and there is a connecting full bath... on down the hall on the right is the kitchen and living room... the master bedroom and bath is at the end on the left... directly ahead is the balcony that overlooks the lake and pool.

So this is a picture through the screen of the sliding door in the living room... the masterbedroom also has one to the left that goes out to the balcony. Nice view and should be a good relaxing spot when the winter is over.

This is from the other side of the living room looking back toward the hallway and the kitchen. The kitchen is great and a lot of it is all brand new... maybe I can actually start baking again now that I have the space...

This one is from the living room as well from the hallway... so not that interesting, but thought I would share... can't wait to have everyone come down, plenty of room and will have the guest room setup by summer... Trev

Nashville is starting to grow on me...

Okay, so update, I found a place to live... so excited. I'll post some pictures once I get everything moved... but is a great place. Is on Old Hickory lake which is this big ass lake that is all over here... is a condo that sits lakeside and has a great view... love it! Anyway, so the one thing I have started to like about Nashville that tops KC is the fact that just about any bar or bar & grill that you go to there is live music... and it isn't always just Country music either, it can be rock or whatever... as the people here told me it is just something that is expected at a bar... to not have any live music is like against the unwritten Nashville rule or something... anyway, went out way too much this week drinking... we had one of our field techs come into town this week and she likes to party, so I had to tag along. Lots of fun, and our Divisional meeting is this week so there will be lots more party'n to do... about time... I was turning into a hermit hanging out in this hotel room all the time.

Be home in 6 days! Woo hoo!

Some Pictures, Yes, this is where I work now...

So I thought I would share some pictures so you could all see how spoiled I was in KC at the new WHQ building... I'll admit, the field is not much glamour, but you should have seen this place before Mr. Anal Retentive Trevor showed up...

So when I showed up and saw this room I thought, well this isn't bad at all, but to my surprise, this is the main district training area for the District office that we SHARE with... non of this space was for us... blah... but I do try to hold my staff meetings in here since we have a lot more room....

So this is basically 2/3 of the area we have for the RDC, not including my office. The room was used last year as a tax hotline room, so they figured not a lot of space would be needed. I have to admit, I was not very happy with this at first, but I have learned to deal with what they have given me. I did re-arrange and buy some tables and make them move everything to make it more of an efficient workspace. Afterall, it isn't how much space we have, but how we use it... (only everytime someone is feeling sick I have to hose the whole place down with lysol so no one else gets sick)... We basically have call reps that answer the phone and take calls from the tax offices and try to fix them via remote control or walking them through their problem over the phone... if we cannot fix them, then we send the ticket to my dispatcher and she weeds through about 80 of my field techs and finds one to go out and fix the office...which can be challenging at times. We have the second largest division in the country... consists of about 1004 offices spanning 5 states... fun... I know... NOT!!! :-)

This is the other side of the room. The gal in the red is Kathy. She is my primary dispatcher (meaning she works about 60 hours a week for me and does an amazing job). We call her Momma Kathy... she is a good'old southern gal that makes sure us 'Kids' don't get out of control. She makes me laugh everyday and I really enjoy our smoke breaks...
The guy in the white is Virg... he is the 1 and only field tech that we have for the Nashville Metro area. He covers as my Lead in the evenings and on Saturdays in the RDC. He is a great guy and is always positive, which God knows helps me as I have been trying to adjust to this field side of the company.
The guy on the right is Joel, he is my other Lead. He was a field tech in Michigan for 2 years and came down here to the RDC. He is mainly my right-hand, he works all day during the week and from 9-7 on Saturday's. He is a great resource and kinda like Trevor 2, but not as funny as me, but then again, who is... :-)
The guy behind on the left is Dave. He is a former Tax Pro and is one of my techs. It is great having someone in the office that has actually worked in the tax office. Great resource as well, as he is able to answer those tax/tech questions that none of us know.

This is Emily, she is Joel's (Lead Tech) girlfriend. She moved down with him from Michigan as well. She cracks me up, as she is one of those folks that just says whatever is on her mind, but sounds like she is doing stand-up... she is just so calm and coy when she says things... makes you do a double-take a lot. She is what I call my QA agent. She basically knows all the jobs. She fills in on the Dispatch job for me, and has been covering a lot of the Admin duties while I find a replacement for my previous admin. She always has a smile on her face and her and Joel have made me feel very welcome. She also works there with Joel about 60 hours a week. I'm telling you, I never knew such dedication to the job until I moved out to the field. I have about 14 other folks that work in the RDC, but they were not around on Saturday when I was taking these pictures... :-) Lucky them.

And last but not least this is my office. Kinda odd sized so could only take a side shot, not that any of you care that is. As you can see I have had to piece it together. We are a new facility for this Division and so they didn't really spend a lot of money on us this year... so I do have a desk and file cabinet that I swear was on the titanic, but hey, it works for me... it is my nice quiet escape when things get crazy during the day. Still need to put some pictures and things on the walls, but after I hung my own White Board I bought and it about killed me when I was writing on it, I'm not sure if I am qualified to hang anything else up... ;-)

Well that is the RDC folks, I plan on trying to take some more photos of the city when I get a chance to get out to it... Hope everyone enjoyed this nice boring photo spread... miss everyone! Even those of you at WHQ that I sent this link to... ;-)

They Should Have Just Shut the Whole State Down

Okay, so I got the best laugh of my life this week. So for the past few weekends they have been predicting that we may get some snow here in Nashville, but never a real sure thing... but Thursday they were so sure that we were going to get some... and almost 1 INCH. I know... OMG!! A whole inch of snow! Everyone in my office was freaking out... asking me if they thought I would get mad if they called in on Friday due to the weather... I was like, ummmm... dudes, it is just an inch of snow... so low and behold that night the news comes on. They cancelled EVERY school district in Nashville and the surrounding areas before the snow even hit. Grocery stores were mobbed and cleaned out. People were afraid they would be stuck in their houses for days... I'm not making this up... this was on the news... LOL. So Friday we do get a dusting of snow, everyone is late and freaking out... I mean yeah, they don't get snow very often, but this was not even what I would consider snow, just enough to see some white. Anyway, wanted to share... I think if they got as much snow and ice here as there was in KC a few weeks ago there would be millions dead and they would probably have declared a national emergency... LOL. See ya. Trev
